Resumen

Este artículo aborda cuestiones historiográficas sobre los conceptos a través de los cuales la filosofía trata de responder a los problemas que se le plantean. Defiende una visión de la filosofía como práctica intelectual históricamente dinámica, sin fronteras claras y fijas que la separen de otras disciplinas. Propone que la historia de la filosofía se practique como un tipo de historia que se sitúa dentro, y no fuera, de la historia intelectual. Muestra que los conceptos filosóficos a veces nacen y persisten en la propia filosofía, a veces mueren sin salir de ella y a veces proceden de otras disciplinas o emigran a ellas. También sostiene que la metodología de la historia conceptual puede ser útil en el estudio de los conceptos filosóficos. El artículo concluye que la historia de la filosofía es relevante por derecho propio y sugiere que las nuevas historias de la filosofía escritas desde perspectivas poscoloniales, globales y feministas son un claro ejemplo de ello.
